Tax and VAT

Making your charity as tax efficient as possible not only makes financial sense but it is the legal duty of every charity to maximise its resources, including making use of tax reliefs.

Tax can be a complex area and getting it wrong can be expensive - one of the trickiest is VAT. Charities are able to claim a number of valuable VAT reliefs but knowing the rules can make the difference between a project being financially viable or becoming a financial liability.
