Where next? What does the future hold for our sector and how can we respond to change?

2015’s successful conference looked at internal factors, focusing on managing reputational risk, identifying and managing change and linking strategy and budgets. This year we consider the external environment, focusing on the long term impacts that may affect the sector; and how we can best identify and respond in order to stay relevant.

The conference will once again bring together senior finance professionals for an opportunity to stay informed on key topics, debate, exchange ideas and share best practice with their peers.

The landscape of our sector is changing. External pressures, greater demand for services, and competition for funding, combined with a call for greater transparency, means that we are facing a challenging future.

The programme will combine thought-provoking presentations and interactive breakout sessions, focused around three core themes:

  •  Is charity becoming irrelevant?
  •  Adapting to changing environments
  •  Identifying the factors that will impact you in the future (future-proofing)

Session 1- Is charity becoming irrelevant? 

This session will likely provoke much debate and discussion. An expert will pose the question ‘Is charity becoming irrelevant’, focusing on how the sector has evolved and whether we will be relevant in the future. To counterpoint this, a senior charity finance manager will discuss the challenges faced by the sector and how we will remain relevant in future environments.

 Session 2 – How does a sector re-invent itself? Adapting to a changing environment

This session will look at how a charity successfully transformed themselves by adapting to changing market environments and the drivers behind the effective shift when so many others failed. It will also explore the current market changes that we as a sector are facing, some of the questions that we need to ask ourselves and what can we do collectively to not just survive, but thrive by proactively changing.

Session 3: Keeping yourself relevant – Identifying what factors will affect you in the future

This session will focus on innovation and future-proofing your organisation. How monitoring and analysing current (and predicting future) market trends can strengthen your organisation. The session will focus on presenting strategies that have been put in place from market analysis to build organisational resilience, growth and performance.

Terms and Conditions:

Written notice of cancellations up to 21 days before an event will incur a 25% administration fee. After this time period, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. Substitutions (i.e. name changes) for the course booked can be made free of charge.

CFG reserves the right to cancel any event two weeks prior to the event date. You will be entitled to a full refund or given the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. However we regret that we cannot refund any travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates. CFG accepts no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the date, time or the venue at any time prior to the event date. If this occurs you will be informed of changes and given the opportunity to cancel or transfer to an alternative date.

CFG reserves the right to amend the content of the programme or the speakers where necessary without consulting booked delegates.
