Getting the most out of Gift Aid is essential for increasing your charity’s fundraising income and maximising the value of donations.

This half-day conference aims to provide attendees with a good understanding of the main issues in Gift Aid and practical advice on topics such as fundraising events , online giving and record-keeping. There will also be troubleshooting sessions to give attendees a chance to put their gift aid questions to the speakers.

Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme

Changes to the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme came into effect in April 2017. Although the scheme is potentially worth thousands of pounds to charities, it is still heavily under used. This session will explain the reformed scheme and how to make the most from claims.

Many charities run supporter or membership schemes and they are an important source of income. Claiming Gift Aid on them can help boost their value but charities often struggle to make the most of the rules. This session will consider how the Gift Aid rules impact membership schemes and how to ensure that you are compliant, whilst maximising income.

Fundraising Events & Auctions

Fundraising events are a great opportunity to raise donations and generate Gift Aid, but there are a number of potential barriers that can get in the way of charities making the most of these events. This session will explain how you can claim Gift Aid on fundraising events and auctions so that you can make your fundraising as effective as possible.

Online giving is one of the fastest growing fundraising methods and there is great potential to generate Gift Aid. New rules will make it even easier for the public to claim Gift Aid via fundraising websites. Written notice of cancellations up to 21 days before an event will incur a 25% administration fee. After this time period, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. Substitutions (i.e. name changes) for the course booked can be made free of charge.

CFG reserves the right to cancel any event two weeks prior to the event date. You will be entitled to a full refund or given the opportunity to transfer to an alternative date. However we regret that we cannot refund any travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates. CFG accepts no liability if an event is cancelled or postponed for reasons beyond our reasonable control resulting from an act of God, governmental regulation, fire, war, terrorist activity or civil commotion.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the date, time or the venue at any time prior to the event date. If this occurs you will be informed of changes and given the opportunity to cancel or transfer to an alternative date.
