Advanced Charity Finance (BIRMINGHAM)

This course aims to build on the knowledge gained in the Foundation Charity Finance course and is also suitable for charity finance professionals with experience of working in the sector.

The format is an interactive workshop style and is intended to be flexible to the needs of the delegates. Sessions will also include a discussion of impact reporting, advanced income recognition issues including the impact of the new SORPs, an in depth session on VAT and tax, pension scheme accounting, and investment issues including monitoring of performance and total returns. By the end of the course, delegates should have a deeper understanding of some of the more intricate accounting issues that charities face.

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at experienced finance professionals and assumes that attendees will be familiar with general accounting and reporting concepts and practice, with a sound knowledge of basic charity accounting and reporting.
It is designed to build on the knowledge gained in the Foundation Charity Finance course.

Course materials will be supplied on the day and will comprise hand outs of the presentation slides and material used in the examples discussed
