New Head of Policy and Public Affairs at CFDG

4th July 2011

Charity Finance Directors’ Group is delighted to announce that Jane Tully will be the new Head of Policy and Public Affairs at the organisation. Jane, whose previous role was Senior Policy Advisor at the Charity Commission, will take up the post from Monday 4th July.

Commenting on Jane’s appointment, Caron Bradshaw, CFDG’s CEO, said: ‘We are extremely happy to have Jane come on board to head up the Policy Team. Our policy work is a pivotal element of what we do to support our members and the wider sector, particularly now when times are tough. This is why we have worked to cover more of the important issues and to up our engagement with Government and other key decision makers in recent years. I’m certain Jane’s breadth of experience and knowledge of the sector through her time at the Charity Commission will be invaluable in pushing this work forward.’

During her time at the Charity Commission, Jane led the regulator’s work on the impact of the economic downturn on the charity sector. She led a review of how charities can engage in social investment and most recently worked on the Commission’s new approach to regulating charities. She has also worked in public affairs, policy and research roles for the NSPCC, local government and European Commission.

Jane commented: ‘After working at the charity regulator which shapes policy, it will be an interesting new challenge to work for a charity that helps influence policy. Having been involved with CFDG during my work at the Charity Commission I know about the important work they do and I’m very excited to become part of this.’
