This year’s Gift Aid Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, 3 October and we’re urging charities to get involved by spreading the #TickTheBox message on social media and in charity retail stores.
We know that Gift Aid enables charities to do so much more. Whatever your charity’s purpose, we want Gift Aid Awareness Day to be the day you remind your supporters how important it is to #TickTheBox.
Our message to all on the day is: You help us to help even more when you #TickTheBox
Every penny counts
In July 2023, the government published its annual charity tax relief statistics. The figures show that although the amount of Gift Aid claimed had increased to £1.6bn – great news! However, 1,310 fewer charities had benefited.
We want every eligible charity to make the most of this vital tax relief, and reduce the amount of Gift Aid that goes unclaimed every year – around £560m.
So how can your organisation get involved in Gift Aid Awareness Day 2024?
Join us on Thursday, 3 October
To get set for this year’s Gift Aid Awareness Day, download our social media toolkit. You’ll find:
- Social media assets for use on the day.
- PowerPoint campaign briefing that contains guidance, hints and tips.
- Social media copy: some suggested text and tweets to use. We would love if you would make it your own!
On the day, let’s light up social media with our #TickTheBox message. Join us in sharing why Gift Aid is so important to your charity and how it helps your beneficiaries, clients or members.
Together we can encourage even more supporters to #TickTheBox!
We value your involvement:
We want this year's campaign to be co-created with charities and partners across the UK. We would love to hear what Gift Aid means to your organisation and share stories that will help Gift Aid Awareness Day bigger, better, and more impactful than before. We also want to hear from Gift Aid experts.
We’re always delighted to see so many charities and partners get involved each year, and we’re looking forward to growing that support again in 2024. Thank you for raising awareness!
