Charities who provide pensions for staff via local government pension schemes can often be trapped in the schemes with a Hobson’s choice of ever-rising contribution costs or an unaffordable exit route. At last, it seems help may be at hand for charities looking to resolve this challenge.
After many years of campaigning by CFG, Government has decided to update the LGPS Regulations to allow for more flexible withdrawals from schemes, including the introduction of a ‘deferred debt’ option. This could offer a much more manageable and affordable solution for many.
To provide charities with information on the changes, and explore the options which will be available, we will be holding a webinar hosted by CFG member David Davison, a director at consulting actuaries Spence & Partners. David has supported CFG throughout the campaign and has long been an advocate for change.
