These are voluntary roles, and membership of the committee will be for three years.
What do we want?
We are recruiting additional members for our OSSIG steering group (run in partnership with Humentum) to support the INGO community and in particular, people working within or supporting the finance function of charities working overseas.
Are you up for the challenge?
Do you believe as we do that financial management should be the heart and soul of every charity and that it gives you the information you need as an organisation to be brave and take risks/seize opportunities? Have you personally seen the transformation that great financial management has made to your organisation?
Are you well connected in the field of international development? Do you have insights into the challenges that finance professionals working in INGOs face and want to be at the heart of the sector? Are you creative, ambitious for the sector and forward-looking? If so, we want you to help shape the services and support we offer to people working for overseas charities on finance and related issues.
What will be required of you?
We meet three times a year to consider the challenges facing the sector and plan content and events to support the membership. We time these meetings to fall soon after the OSSIG member events to enable us to consider any lessons learned, feedback from delegates and review our provisional plans for forthcoming meetings.
We will also encourage you to share your connections, knowledge and insights, potentially speak (if you have experiences to share) write or otherwise get involved.
