Online event series
Are you interested in connecting with peers, developing your leadership and mentoring skills, while also learning from others in the sector?
Our free-for-members mentoring scheme is back with a new yearly cohort. This 3 part webinar series has been developed with Leadership Coach and Chair of the Association of Business Mentors, Nicki Deeson, and is designed for participants to develop their mentoring skills and form authentic partnerships with people in the sector that they may not have otherwise met.
Why should I attend?
This programme uses the peer mentoring approach, where participants benefit from being both a mentor and mentee, to unlock their potential and develop the mentoring skills that are so crucial to being a successful leader. We give participants all of the training, tools and support they need through structured sessions:
- Webinar 1 – Welcome, Networking and Foundations of Mentoring
- Webinar 2 – Building Skills
- Webinar 3 – Getting Ready to Mentor
We often find that individuals paired up through the mentoring scheme continue their working relationship beyond the initial sessions, giving you the potential for an external confidant to help you in your charity finance career.
When and where?
All sessions are conducted online via Zoom:
- Wednesday 6 November: 15:00 – 16:30
- Thursday 14 November: 15:00 – 16:30
- Wednesday 20 November: 15:00 – 16:30
How do I book?
Book below. You'll receive updated event information approximately one week prior to the event date.
If you are interested in the mentoring scheme, please do book promptly as we find spaces often fill up quickly.
Who should attend?
Any CFG member is welcome to attend the mentoring scheme. We do ask that interested individuals make every effort to attend all three sessions in order to make the most from the mentoring scheme, for both themselves and their assigned partner.
Mentoring scheme testimonials
“This regular session with my peer mentor is hugely beneficial for me. It gives me an opportunity to step back, look outside of all the work I am delivering to focus on what issues I have going on, what my blockers are and think about how and where I can improve.” Cassandra Woolford, Open Foundation, Finance Focus February 2022 edition.
“I was only interested in being mentored and did not feel I had the ability to mentor… [b]y the end of the first session I had completely changed my view and was overwhelmed and excited by the impact the first session had on me.” Lisa Dolor, SignPosts, Finance Focus February 2022 edition.
