What does this mean for CFG membership?
This is a completely optional benefit that we believed may be of help to some of our members who need assistance from a procurement point of view. The CSPG is entirely free to join should you wish to be involved.
What are the aims of CSPG?
The Charity Sector Procurement Group (CSPG) is a free-to-join professional networking group open to any person with procurement responsibilities and who are employed by a registered charity. They are not a legal entity and their group is run by members (led by a small executive team) for members, and its success is dependent on their engagement.
The group's focus is primarily on UK registered charities and not-for-profits, but some of their member organisations do have interests and operations outside of the UK.
The aims of CSPG are to support the charity sector by:
- Providing a forum for developing, sharing and promoting best practice
- Providing a platform for networking
- Strengthening professional standards
- Raising the profile of procurement
- Promoting development and training
- Representing the sector to external networks and partners, including the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS)
- Representing the diversity of the sector
- Generating content for procurement professionals via both their members Huddle platform, and the CIPS Knowledge website
What do CSPG do?
- Quarterly Meetings: CSPG hold quarterly meetings for their members. The Q1 and Q3 meetings are hosted virtually, whilst the Q2 and Q4 are hybrid meetings.
- Inclusion: Members are invited to raise issues for discussion and lead specific agenda items, although our meetings do often feature presentations from expert speakers.
- Knowledge and Resources: We have a secure online discussion platform, known as Huddle, which ideagen kindly provides to us. Their members use Huddle to share best practice and resources, discuss hot topics and assist each other with particular procurement challenges.
In addition to the Huddle platform, there is a closed LinkedIn group available for all members to access and share best practice.
CSPG members with CIPS membership also have access to numerous member benefits including discounted training courses.
How do I join CPSG?
Following completion of a short CSPG Membership request form you will be invited to join the CSPG Huddle Platform.
Membership is active once you have completed the Huddle registration process.
