CFG and the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) launch new three-year partnership

AIM and CFG have launched a new partnership which will see CFG’s over 1,400 members combine with AIM’s 800 members to spread financial best practice across the museums sector.

Charity finance is a real challenge for independent museums, with increasing costs, reduced funding and more robust regulation in the sector across the board. With the aim of empowering professionals and enabling collaboration, AIM and CFG are offering CFG benefits to AIM members thanks to support from Arts Council England.

Members will receive member rates and discounts for CFG’s comprehensive programme of events, training and exclusive members’ meetings, specifically designed for a range of different-sized charities and organisations throughout England and Wales; networking with peers and online forums; publications; access to specialist finance helplines, and the chance to impact on CFG’s policy work.

This major partnership between a national infrastructure and specialist infrastructure is part of CFG’s strategy to be the “go-to body” for all charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Emma Chaplin, Director, Association of Independent Museums said:

“The partnership with the Charity Finance Group opens up a great wealth of expertise and resources in financial management for our members to draw upon.

“I urge members to make sure they sign up quickly to discover and use the benefits that CFG membership can bring them.”

Andrew O’Brien, Director of Policy and Engagement at Charity Finance Group said:

“Dealing with the finances of a museum can be a lonely business. This partnership will enable AIM members to benefit from our network of nearly 1,450 charities as well as hundreds of corporate partners so that they are not alone.

“National infrastructure bodies need to do more to reach out to all charities, not just waiting for organisations to come to us. I hope that this partnership will be the first of many that we will be able to strike with sectors that need more support, such as museums.”
