Partner Laura Masheder heads up a specialist team of 60 specially trained individuals, which includes charity VAT and tax experts, who between them act for over 250 charities and not for profit organisations from our offices based in Sheffield, Cleckheaton, Chesterfield, Leeds & York.
Clients include incorporated entities, trusts, academies and social enterprises, carrying out a diverse range of activities varying from smaller organisations with simple structures to larger charitable groups with complex structures and funds.
In the December 2023 Charity Finance magazine annual survey of charity audit firms, which is based on feedback from our clients, we scored 97% for charity expertise and 100% for client service. We have been included in the survey with consistently high scores for the last 11 years.
A number of the members of BHP’s charity team hold the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA), demonstrating BHP’s high level of competence in charity accounting and financial management which makes a real difference to organisations in the charity sector. Many members of the team are also charity trustees and school governors with a deep understanding of the challenges that charity trustees face.
The team produces regular news updates on developments within the sector and hosts frequent training events for charities including an annual conference, trustee training seminars and charity VAT and Tax seminars.
