Finance for Non-Finance Managers

This course will provide an introduction to charity finances for individuals with a non-financial background. It is also perfect for those who want a refresher on the basics of financial and budget management.

By the end of the day, participants will have a greater understanding and confidence when working with budgets and accounts. 

 

Why should I attend? 

The sessions will cover:

  • Introduction to accounting - including income, expenditure, charities SORP and more
  • Charity reporting – annual returns, statutory financial statements and reporting to the Charity Commission
  • Governance – including risk management, reserves and measuring impact, among others
  • Charity taxation – introduction to tax and VAT
  • Audit – independent examinations and external scrutiny

 

Who should attend?

This event is made for finance managers, project managers, fundraisers and budget controllers who are new to the role, or for those who would like a refresher.

  • 10:00am - 1:00pm
  • Online via Zoom - joining instructions will be shared one week before the event day
