This session will equip you with essential information on charity finance that trustees need to understand. It will also cover the financial risks and obligations that come with the role of a trustee.

From trustees perspective, the information included should be just right to provide a clear picture of your charity's activities and financial position. Overabundance of information can hinder trustees decision making as much as an incomplete report. This session will provide you with an insight into what information is required by trustees to enable smooth running of your organisation.

For trustees, understanding the nuance of UK charity audits and your charities financial health is not just a legal requirement, but a basis of responsible governance. Audits can foster trust from stakeholders and beneficiaries and ensure that your charity operates within the confines of the law. This session will cover what trustees should know about their charities finances and audit processes in order to maintain a transparent and robust financial health, which in turn, paves the path for sustained success.

Financial risk and trustee duties and responsibilities

Charity trustees have the ultimate responsibility of ensuring good governance in their organisation. To achieve that the board and trustees must adhere to duties and responsibilities as set out by the law and Charity Commission. What are the risks associated with those duties, how to spot them and, if possible, mitigate them early? This session will cover the risks associated with financial and legal responsibilities of trustees.
