Gift Aid

Get ready for Gift Aid Awareness Day 2026!

The refreshed Gift Aid Awareness Day toolkit has arrived! On Thursday 1 October, let's highlight the importance of Gift Aid and encourage all donors and supporters to #TickTheBox.

This year's Gift Aid Awareness Day will be held on Thursday 1 October and we're urging charities to get involved by spreading the #TickTheBox message far and wide – on social media, in charity shops, and across your supporter communications.

We know that Gift Aid is vital to charities and enables organisations to do so much more. Whatever your charity's purpose, we want Gift Aid Awareness Day to be the day you remind your supporters how important it is to #TickTheBox.

Our message to all on the day is: You help us to help even more when you #TickTheBox

Every penny counts

Gift Aid continues to be one of the most valuable tax reliefs available to charities, generating vital income that helps organisations support more people and communities across the UK.

We want every eligible charity to make the most of this important tax relief and help reduce the hundreds of millions of pounds of Gift Aid that go unclaimed each year.

So how can your organisation get involved in Gift Aid Awareness Day 2026?

Join us on Thursday 1 October

To get set for this year's Gift Aid Awareness Day, download our social media toolkit.

You'll find:

  • Social media assets for use on the day
  • A PowerPoint campaign briefing containing guidance, hints and tips
  • Suggested social media copy and posts that you can adapt for your organisation
  • A draft letter you can send to your local MP, asking them to support the Gift Aid Awareness Day campaign

On the day, let's light up social media with our #TickTheBox message. Join us in sharing why Gift Aid is so important to your charity and how it helps your beneficiaries, clients, members and communities.

Together we can encourage even more supporters to #TickTheBox!

We're always delighted to see so many charities and partners get involved each year, and we're looking forward to growing that support again in 2026. Thank you for helping to raise awareness and champion the importance of Gift Aid.
