Charles Stanley

Our focus on clients has endured since the foundation of the firm in 1792 and has helped make us one of the UK’s leading wealth managers. With over 20 offices across the UK, our funds under management and administration were £24.9 billion as at 31 December 2019, with £1.3bn managed on behalf of our charity clients.

Charles Stanley’s charity specialists have earned a reputation for meeting the investment needs of charities of all sizes and sectors. Many of our clients are introduced to us through personal recommendations from existing charity clients: the ultimate endorsement of our services, which are developed around the distinctive requirements of each charity. By paying attention to the particular priorities, challenges and needs of our clients, we can create an investment strategy and mandate that is bespoke for their unique objectives, rather than slotting them into pre-existing products.

We use a comprehensive, structured investment approach within a robust risk framework. This includes offering the relevant level of environmental, social and governance (ESG) screening as required. All clients can get instant access to their portfolios via our online investment platform (My Charles Stanley).

Above all, it is the personal relationship between investment manager and the charity that really sets us apart. We don't use Relationship Managers so you can be confident that the person you are speaking to is the same dedicated investment manager and team who are looking after the charity's investments. Our charity trustees also benefit from regular trustee training as well as thought leadership through our bi-annual charity magazine, ‘InFocus’.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise. Investors may get back less than invested.
