Caron Bradshaw launches new CFG leadership strategy at Annual Fundraising Dinner

Caron Bradshaw, Chief Executive, Charity Finance Group launched CFG’s new leadership strategy at CFG’s Annual Fundraising Dinner which was sponsored by Ecclesiastical.

Marking the 30th Anniversary of CFG in her speech, Bradshaw paid tribute to the trustees, staff and former staff, corporate supporters and a past Chief Executives and members that help to move finance from just compliance into becoming an enabler of the charity.

Remarking that CFG had evolved from an “organisation focussed on technical excellence to having a strong voice in matters related to charity finance”, Bradshaw laid out the organisation’s ambitions for the next three years.

A new “leadership” strategy will see CFG focusing on three areas:

  • Expanding CFG’s scope to provide leadership skills to finance people and finance skills for charity leaders.
  • Walking the talk, not just talking to talk by sharing CFG’s own experience in grappling with challenging charity finance issues such as risk management.
  • Increasing CFG’s voice and influence so that it is seen as the go-to-body for all issues charity finance related.

Bradshaw made clear that CFG would continue to speak out on key issues facing the sector over the coming years:

“…we will always seek to base them on evidence and the public interest.  Being a critical friend to our peers and our regulator, seeking to advance the sector and not ourselves.

We will be bold, working collaboratively whenever we can but being brave enough to stand out from the crowd when we need to.”

Charity Finance Group’s annual report and accounts with further details of its new strategy and performance will be published on the 16th November 2017.
