CFG has been flat out leading and working with other sector bodies on the policy and influencing response to the Coronavirus crisis with government and policy makers. Here’s a summary of the things we’ve been working on:
Multiple daily calls with other sector infrastructure bodies working on coordinating the effort to respond to the crisis. The WhatsApp, tweets, emails, phone calls, zooms and teams have been ringing off the hook!
Developing a campaign #EveryDayCounts to mobilise support for our asks of government
Collaborated on a survey of financial impact on charities with the IoF and NCVO and are busy analyzing the results and using them in briefing government to make the case for charities and not for profit sector support. Results will be published soon.
With NCVO and endorsed by other sector representative bodies, prepared and submitted evidence to the Treasury Committee on the financial impact of the Coronavirus crisis on charities
With other sector bodies, collaborated on preparing multiple briefings for the DCMS and Treasury, anonymizing the information members have sent us in their case studies to help with evidence. Thank you for your engagement.
Kept the www.cfg.org.uk/coronavirus_guide page updated multiple times a day as the situation evolves
With other sector organizations working to understand what the government measures mean for charities in practice.
