Get set for Gift Aid Awareness Day 2023

On Thursday 5 October, let’s shout about the importance of gift aid and encourage all donors and supporters to #TickTheBox!

This year’s Gift Aid Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, 5 October and we’re urging charities to get involved by spreading the #TickTheBox message on the day.

We know that gift aid enables charities to do so much more. And whatever your charity’s purpose, we want Gift Aid Awareness Day to the day you remind your supporters how important it is to #TickTheBox.

Our first message to all on the day is: You help us to help even more when you #TICKTHEBOX

Times are uncertain for everyone, so we want to take this opportunity to acknowledge those who support our charities and give so generously.

So, our second campaign message to generous donors is: If you #TICKTHEBOX – Thank you!

Every penny counts

In July 2023, the government published its annual charity tax relief statistics. The figures show that although the amount of gift aid claimed had increased to £1.6bn – great news! –1,310 fewer charities had benefited.

We want every eligible charity make the most of this vital tax relief, and reduce the amount of gift aid that goes unclaimed every year – around £560m.

So how can your organisation get involved in Gift Aid Awareness Day 2022?

Join us on Thursday, 5 October

To get set for this year’s Gift Aid Awareness Day, download our campaign pack and social media toolkit. You’ll find social media assets for use on the day, and a PDF campaign briefing that contains ideas, hints and tips: https://bit.ly/GAAD23Pack.

On the day, let’s light up social media with our #TickTheBox message. Join us in sharing why gift aid is so important to your charity and how it helps your beneficiaries, clients or members.

Together we can encourage even more supporters to #TickTheBox!

Thank you!

We’re always delighted to see so many charities get involved each year and we’re looking forward to growing that support again in 2023. Thank you for raising awareness!
