Charity Finance Group (CFG) is delighted to announce the appointment of a new trustee. Hugh Wallace joins the CFG Board, bringing with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of knowledge of digital delivery and the third sector in Scotland.
Hugh is Chief Information Officer at Research Data Scotland, a charity that enables access to public sector data about people, places and businesses. His previous roles involved leading a high-profile programme to deliver a common payments platform in Scottish Government. He also supported digital service development within Scotland’s Social Security agency. Prior to that, he led the digital teams at Oxfam and National Museums Scotland.
Hugh joins the CFG Board at an exciting time in CFG’s history. In November 2022, CFG registered with the Office of the Scottish Regulator to extend and deliver services in Scotland. CFG is also developing its data and digital-first approaches. Hugh’s experience in the private, public and charity sectors in both Scotland and England will be invaluable as CFG shapes its offering to reach even more charities and social change organisations.
Commenting on his new trusteeship, Hugh said: “When I met the team from CFG there was mutual recognition that there was synergy between my background and CFG’s aims and ambitions. Having worked across different sectors, including arts and culture, I’ll be able to bring a range of different skills to the role, as well as help establish new connections for CFG in Scotland.”
Hugh says the trusteeship comes at a good time in his career and family life: “I’ve been wanting to give back in some way for a while, by sharing my experience and connections for the benefit of charities. And I’m now at the right point in my life where I feel I can do that well.
“There’s a shared mission with CFG and we share the same values. I’m looking forward to getting a better understanding of CFG’s DNA and making a real contribution on the Board.”
