Charity Finance Group (CFG) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees – Angela Linton and Tim Nicholls.
Angela is Chief Operating Officer at The National Foundation for Youth Music, the UK’s biggest young people’s music charity.
Angela has a breadth of experience working in charitable organisations across the cultural sector. As well as having had previous experience of being a trustee and undertaking company secretary duties, Angela is a member of the Living Wage Foundation, Third Sector Steering Committee and actively advocates for the payment of the real living wage.
Tim Nicholls is Director of Finance and Resources and Company Secretary at the arts education charity The Arts Society, based in Central London.
Tim has almost 30 years' experience in finance and accountancy, both practising and teaching. Before moving into senior roles in the charity sector a decade ago, Tim enjoyed a successful career in the NHS. Over the past 12 years, he has held several trustee roles.
Commenting on her new role, Angela said:
“As a new CFG member, I am delighted to have been elected as a trustee. I am bowled over by how the organisation advocates on behalf of the charity sector and the way it engages with members.”
Angela is passionate about equality of opportunity and has experience as a mentor at CEO level. She is committed to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and helping people develop their leadership skills, knowledge, and confidence.
Angela continued: “I’m looking forward to working alongside the CFG team to support the charity sector emerging leaders of the future.”
Like Angela, Tim is passionate about volunteering and sharing his time, skills and knowledge. He is Chairman of North Kent Volunteer Centre and has also held several trustee and treasurer roles.
Talking about his appointment to the CFG board, Tim said: “I was delighted to be elected and look forward to supporting my colleagues both on the board and the staff to continue the excellent and important work of CFG.
“I hope to bring a good blend of finance, governance, executive and non-executive experience to the role. My experiences have obviously been both good and bad and these will hopefully complement and build on all of the skills already in place. I look forward to being part of the CFG team.”
Tim and Angela join the board alongside Mwiza Mkandawire and Kelly Ryder who were both elected as trustees following their co-option to the board in early 2022.
